From the desk of the President: PTA Spring update
Dear Creekside families,
Spring has burst into life! With the blue skies and dogwood, azaleas, wisterias and jessamine blooming, you can easily see why they call North Carolina ‘the Southern part of Heaven.’ What better way to celebrate spring than getting involved in Creekside’s many PTA activities? Every little bit of volunteer time is greatly appreciated. Why not volunteer to help teach our children the joys of gardening – Contact Melissa Rooney at mmr121570@yahoo.com to help with the herb and vegetable garden and the flowerbeds that make Creekside so beautiful. The Spring Carnival is just around the corner and the Carnival committee has been busy recruiting sponsors and making arrangements for the event on May 4th. Carnival is our biggest annual event, and requires lots of organizing – if you can help, please contact Shay Charles at shaycharles@nc.rr.com. Duke Concessions are over for this school year but will be starting again in the fall. We need a chair for the Duke Concessions committee – contact me or Mr. Hester if you are interested.
As you consider summer camp arrangements for your children, we have an offer for Creekside parents to receive a special rate of $220 for full day language immersion camps – see http://www.flip4kidsnc.com/ for details. (Please note that Creekside PTA does not endorse any particular summer camp programs).
Our next PTA Board meeting is at 7pm on Monday, April 2 at the Media Center. All are welcome. If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else to run for PTA officer or to chair a committee please contact me. See you there! Have a safe and enjoyable Spring Break!
