Many THANKS to everyone for a great carnival this year! Thank you to the people who bought and sold raffle tickets, donated items and worked a shift at the games and activities. We could not have done it without you! The turnout was great this year so thanks for coming out!
It takes a ton of people to run an event this size so IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING OUT WITH CARNIVAL NEXT YEAR, please send you name and number to Shay Charles – shaycharles@nc.rr.com.
We are looking for at least 10 key people to get involved.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the raffle and auction for the Spring Carnival. This was one of our most successful years yet. The Spring auction and raffle combined brought in close to $20,000.
Way to go creekside families!!!
We still have lots of raffle items and a few auction items to pick up in the office. If you haven’t paid for your auction items make sure to go online and do that, or you can write a check when you pick up. Raffle items are in the office and ready to be picked up as well.
Thank you again for all your support and if you have any questions please let us know Brooke and Andrea can be reached at Creeksideraffle@gmail.com.

Githens Parent-Staff Meet and Greet, May 15@5:30PM
Come meet Githens parents and staff on May 15th at 5:30PM during a Meet and Greet in the Media Center. Enjoy some snacks and beverages, and find out a little more about Githens. Current parents, teachers, and administrators will be there and will be happy to answer any questions you have. This is also a great time to think about ways to be involved in school activities next year. You are also invited to attend the PTA meeting, immediately following the Meet and Greet. It’s a great chance to see the great things that are happening at Githens.
Hope you can join us, and bring a friend!

Crayola Color Cycle Program at Creekside Continues – We are excited to report that we are going to continue the marker recycling program started last year in conjunction with Crayola. It’s called CrayolaColorCycle – an amazing program devised to turn used markers into energy! Last year Creekside recycled 2,148 markers. Let’s see if we can beat that number this year!!
All around Creekside Elementary students and teachers will be collecting used markers (all brands of plastic markers, not just Crayola markers, that includes dry erase markers and highlighters), that are ready to be discarded. The markers will then be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more!
Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used markers you may have around the house. Drop-off boxes will be located in each classroom for your child to deposit the markers. These boxes will remain in the classrooms throughout the year for continued marker recycling.
Thank you in advance for participating! With the help of parents like you across the country, the Crayola ColorCycle program can keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year.
