Shoe Box Program CoordinatorWe have partnered with the World Wear Project and are collecting wearable shoes for repurposing and as a green effort to keep them out of landfills. We need someone to be a point person for this project which would entail occasionally checking on the contents of the Shoe Box and letting the World Wear Project know when the box is full and ready for pickup (prepaid labels provided). The commitment would be very minimal (10-15 minutes each month) www.worldwearproject.com
If you are interested in leading this project, please contact Erica Libertore atericalibertore@gmail.com

Tech-Savvy Individuals Needed  The PTA would like to be as paperless as possible. We need individuals who can assist in creating Google Docs, maintaining our website, and general tech-y tasks. The commitment would be minimal and could be done via text or email. This might be a perfect position for a working parent who otherwise may not have time to volunteer. Please contact Erica Libertore at ericalibertore@gmail.com if interested.

SOAR Eagles!

Creekside Eagle Blast !!Special Addition!!

Parents,
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!  Our Fun Run is TOMORROW and we still have a ways to go to reach our $27,000 goal!  We are currently 85% there which is GREAT!   Because of the wonderful fundraising we have so far, we are able to provided 60 meals to the needy!
We are raising funds to help fund grade-level field trips as well as enhance each teachers classroom library. The Boosterthon Fun Run is the primary fundraiser at Creekside.  The success of this program keeps us from having to hold additional fundraisers throughout the year. If we reach our goal, we will not have to hound our family members, neighbors or friends again for the rest of the year!!!

Here are SOME of the amazing things the Creekside Elementary School PTA is fortunate to fund with the money we raise:

Each Classroom Teacher receives $200 to spend in their classrooms EVERY YEAR!!
Resource Teachers receive $200-$800 to spend on their programs every year
Specials Teachers receive $600 to spend on specials for our students every year
That’s a total of $15,000 which goes DIRECTLY to our teachers!!!

We offer a Teachers Grant Program worth $15,000!  Teachers have been awarded funds to purchase technology, playground equipment, books, teaching materials, educational games, seminar fees, classroom furniture and rugs and much much more!  This money goes right back to our teachers!!!

Funds also support FREE Enrichment Programs for our Students and Community
International Night
Science Week
Science Night
Battle of the Books
Science Olympiad
All-Pro Dads
Owl Pellets for 5th Grade Science
Field Trip Assistance (to make field trips accessible to ALL of our students)
A Free Book for Each Student on their Birthday
Family Fun Nights

Other (lesser known) PTA sponsored activities:
Grounds Beautification – the PTA is responsible for the planting and upkeep of all the gardens around campus.
Teacher Appreciation – we love our Creekside teachers and treat them to monthly activities to show them just how much we appreciate them. These activities have included: staffing the lounge with snacks and meals, providing lunch or breakfast, sponsoring Teacher Appreciation Week events like mini massages, snow cones and BBQs. We were even able to surprise our teachers and staff with a lounge makeover a few years ago!!

We cannot do this without YOUR help!  Please help your student earn pledges for this Friday’s Fun Run so that we can continue to do such great work at Creekside! LOG ONTO FUNRUN.COM TO REGISTER YOUR CHILDREN AND ENTER PLEDGES. You can also record pledges manually and then collect after the fun run and send in cash or checks. Donors may also donate a flat fee. Please support the Fun Run!

Register your student for Fun Run!

Parents,
The Creekside Eagles Fun Run kicked off today with an exciting Pep Rally, and we are thrilled about this year’s program! We’ve asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run program (which will last about two weeks), making our fundraising simpler, more profitable, and more fun. Our Fun Run includes all students in a fun, team-building, fitness event while helping our school raise much-needed funds.

This year, our entire school is raising funds for field trips and classroom libraries. Our goal is to raise $26,000, and we need YOUR help!

Here’s how you can support Creekside:

  • Register your student on funrun.com. To log in pledges, please register your child on funrun.com using Creekside’s registration code: 252-324. Students receive a FREE GIFT just by having their parent or guardian register them on funrun.com.
  • Reach out to sponsors. Connect with 10 sponsors. You can use social media in the pledging process and even create custom videos—all of this is onfunrun.com. Be sure to capture and record each sponsor’s e-mail address. They will also have an easy opportunity to pay for your student’s pledge by credit card online.
  • Ask your child about the BACKYARD BOX OFFICE Character Act of the day! This year’s character theme is Backyard Box Office, a movie theme about making a difference by getting into character. Watch the fun videos with your child on funrun.com.
  • Come to the Fun Run on Friday, September 30th! All students are invited to participate, regardless of financial participation. Remember, students will be running 30-35 laps, and we would love for you to come out and cheer.

Thank you for supporting our school. We hope to see you next week at the Fun Run!

Sincerely,

The Creekside Elementary PTA
